Voting: What to Know Before You Go

ABSENTEE BALLOTS: West Hartford residents have been voting by absentee ballot for weeks. Tuesday, November 3, isn’t just your one opportunity to vote in-person at the polls — it’s also the last day to drop off your absentee ballot at one of the drop boxes outside Town Hall (50 South Main Street) or the Faxon Branch Library (1073 New Britain Avenue). If you’re voting by absentee ballot, 8:00 PM on Tuesday is the absolute latest you can drop off your ballot.

VOTING IN PERSON: As always, polls will be open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Election Day. Please be sure to bring identification and wear a mask for your safety and the safety of others. If you don’t know your polling location, you can look it up here. Just enter your information and the site will tell you where to go vote.

NEED A LIFT? The West Hartford Democrats are again offering rides to the polls AND for those needing to drop off their absentee ballots. Volunteer drivers and passengers will be masked. Please call 860-578-2690 to request a ride.

NOT REGISTERED? Did you forget to register to vote? Luckily for you, Connecticut offers Election Day Voter Registration. In West Hartford, you cannot register at your polling location — you must go to the Senior Center at Bishop’s Corner (15 Starkel Road, behind Big Y, near Post Office) between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
