The West Hartford Democrats' October meeting will be abbreviated and virtual. We will discuss Election Day activities and hear from our local legislative delegation about their respective campaigns' needs over these final weeks of the election cycle. Following business, we plan to make calls for State Senator Derek Slap. Please email info@westhartforddems.org if you would like to participate in this meeting.
The greatest need for volunteers is to make calls or text voters in swing states. There are even opportunities to canvass (knock doors) in Pennsylvania, the closest swing state to Connecticut. Please click a link below for details:
Other local volunteer opportunities:
State Senator Derek Slap: We need Derek Slap in our State Senate. By phone banking for Derek, you'll be connecting directly with constituents and mobilizing support for an advocate who fights for Connecticut's values. Phone banking runs weekdays from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and weekends from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Contact Daniela at daniela.lunardgz@gmail.com to volunteer.
State Representative Kate Farrar: Kate Farrar is a dedicated leader, fighting for Connecticut's families and future. By joining Kate on the doors, you'll connect face-to-face with voters, share her vision, and build a stronger community. To coordinate a time to door knock, please email Jennifer at jennifer@Kateforct.com.
Congresswoman Jahana Hayes: Although West Hartford is outside of Rep. Hayes's congressional district, she is locked in a tough race that could tip the balance in the U.S. House of Representatives. The Connecticut Democrats are hosting a virtual phone bank for Jahana from Oct. 17 to Oct. 31.
Lawn Signs: We continue to receive many requests for Harris-Walz lawn signs. We did have a limited quantity for sale but are now out of stock. We recommend purchasing signs directly from the Harris campaign: https://store.kamalaharris.com/harris-walz-yard-sign/
